We just had an assignment to design an online portfolio. I have never really considered putting together a 'resume' style page, but I am surprised I haven't. I have had my own website before for my artistic endeavors, but I see the obvious advantage to having an online portfolio. I currently have only the things that were required, but I think I'm going to extend it to include media (video, music) I have produced, as I plan to work in this type of field.

IP/TCP...
Wow. So we read a lot yesterday for class about internet history. I'm glad I did, I find that stuff so interesting. It's hard to imagine those people writing the first framework for all the protocols and internet processes that are so commonplace now. To think that someone had to first come up with the notion of something like IP, and then to actually materialize it...its baffling. Such a complex thing with nothing to guide you other than what you have learned as the internet grew from nothing.
How it all works is such a fascinating mystery to me, as I know I will probably never have the time to learn it all given my other interests that occupy my time...
I just can't begin to comprehend manifesting such powerful, groundbreaking concepts from text on a screen.

Writings...
Well this has been sitting around a while. I guess I will use it for my Comm 410 class this summer. We've been reading about some things related to internet empowering consumers, and its something I think about a lot. As the speed and accesability of information increases, so will out dependance on large companies for products, or ideas.
However...information companies who supply us with internet must stay ethical. Net neutrality is absolutely essential to the internet, and the freedom it has given consumers so far.
